Mega more Sicko’s note.

Posted by sicko94 on July 10, 2008

Today we talked about the media and compared “teen” styles on the street to teen styles in the midia.

I think there’s a  lot of bull crap in the media about what people should look like.

I also think this computer needs a better internet connection.

And I have gross marker stuff all over my hands.

today was carze!;/

Posted by th07 on July 10, 2008

Today we were watching sites and videos about he styles that are within the media and i ofund out that there is alot of styles andpeople kinda imitate the way that the celebs dress and try to look ass good as them because they want to be good and teens like me just want to get attention from their peers and stay cool. I think is not so much about if you like the way you look but thow y our peers are responding to these looks.

or not?!

We later on had a group dicussion and we actualy started debating about how the styles for example EMO are really their looks and wht is the defntion of emo well alot did not agree with some opinions from their peers and don’t think that emo has an exact defenition!!!!!!:)

Today we talked a lot about media.  In the end our discussion had swayed to how “perfect” media makes celebs seen.  I think some people were against this, but I personally think it’s good that media does so.  I would not watch a tv show with fat/ugly people in it.  By putting “perfect” people on tv, people are influenced to want to portray the same image.  Which is good.  If you’re fat, you should feel bad; being fat is not okay, really, stop shoving McDonalds down your throat and drving everywhere.  When you look at skinny and pretty people, you should want that for yourself.   And everyone can achieve that.  Buy some makeup, cut your hair, and lose a lot of wieght.  It looks better and it feels better.  Anyone can look good it just takes effort.

Also, off topic but… if you’re fat do not go to shows and attempt to get close to the stage or mosh.  You take up too much room and cause injurys.

Does the media copy our style?

Posted by karon08 on July 10, 2008

Yes. The edia dresses celebrities like you as an advertising gig. When they wear it we buy it. When we wear it the advertise it. Its  cycle that we cant help. Personally i take it as a compliment

Teen style >.>

Posted by beautifullogic on July 10, 2008

I saw alot of clothes today online that made me wish I had a credit card - others not so much. I mean, high waisted khaki pants? Who wears those? Anyway we had a long discussion today which made me seriously hungry. It was very productive. We talked about teens creating their own styles and if they actually can create their own style. And what emo is - which actually doesn’t have a real definition. But what I define is a somewhat depressed person who is OVERLY EMOTIONAL and who wants to create their own style. And I saw some hideous styles on Teen Vogue - bell bottoms, the grande ones - will not be back in. Oh but I saw some cute hairstyles: bed hair and a pixie cut. Pixie cuts are really cute. I still don’t know what dandy caps are though.

Surfing the net, for styles…

Posted by 66blackm00ns on July 10, 2008

We went on the net looking for teens and their styles… Some of the sites I visited were “Rolling Stones”, “MTV”, and others. All the styles that I seen were almost the same as the ones that I have seen on the streets, but the only difference is that the styles from the street are not as perfect as the ones from the media.
